Our Story & Mission

Our Story

Addressing the Root Causes of Youth Unemployment in Northern Kenya

We work in the counties of LaikipiaIsioloSamburu, and Marsabit, where youth face significant barriers to education and career development, including high rates of unemployment, cultural practices like early marriage and cattle rustling, and limited access to training facilities

How We Make an Impact:
Bridging Skill Gaps: The community has a high demand for skilled artisans, mechanics, and drivers, but often lacks qualified local tradesmen and training opportunities. Our programs meet these specific, local market needs.
Empowering from Within: We engage with parents and local leaders to overcome cultural barriers and negative perceptions surrounding vocational training, ensuring community buy-in and support for our students.
Fostering Self-Reliance: We provide not just trade skills (like welding and carpentry), but also crucial life skills such as digital literacy and entrepreneurship, enabling graduates to start their own businesses and contribute to their local economy.
Advocacy & Awareness: We work to increase community awareness of government support programs, which often go unknown or unused, leveraging all available resources for youth success.

What Sets Us Apart

A Community-Owned TVET Built for the Future of Northern Kenya.

1. Indigenous Knowledge Integration

We don’t just teach modern trades; we blend them with ancestral wisdom. Our curriculum includes traditional practices and heritage preservation, ensuring our youth remain rooted in their culture while they build their future.

2. Community-Rooted Solutions

Our courses aren’t random—they are specifically chosen to fill local market gaps in Laikipia, Isiolo, Samburu, and Marsabit. We train youth in skills that the community actually needs, from masonry to plumbing, ensuring immediate employment potential.

3. Climate-Resilient Focus

Living in Northern Kenya means facing environmental challenges. We prioritize “green” thinking and sustainable practices in our vocational training to help our graduates thrive in a changing landscape.

4. The “Community Resilience”

“We believe that when a young person has a tool in their hand and a business plan in their mind, they are no longer vulnerable to the vices that plague our region. Our programs specifically target the root causes of cattle rustling and early marriage by offering a superior path. By equipping them with modern skills and land rights awareness, we are not just teaching trades—we are rescuing futures and building a more secure Northern Kenya.”
